1) What we collect
ClassicPlayer is designed to function without an account. By default, we do not collect personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, address, or phone number.
- Music library access (optional): If you grant access, the app can read your library metadata (e.g., song title, artist, album) to display and play your music. This data stays on your device unless explicitly stated otherwise below.
- Diagnostics (optional): If enabled, we may collect crash reports and basic performance diagnostics to improve stability (e.g., app version, device model, OS version, crash logs).
- Support messages (if you contact us): If you email support, we will receive your email address and the information you include.
2) How we use information
- To provide core playback features (browse, queue, play music).
- To troubleshoot bugs and improve performance (if diagnostics are enabled).
- To respond to support requests.
3) Permissions (with examples)
Some features require iOS permissions. ClassicPlayer only uses these permissions to power the features you choose.
- Apple Music / Media Library: Used to show your songs, artists, albums, and playlists and to play selected tracks. Example: “When you tap Albums, we read album names/artwork to display your library.”
Note: iOS permission prompts are controlled by Apple. You can change permissions anytime in iOS Settings.
4) Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your music library content with third parties.
- Service providers: If we use crash reporting or analytics providers (optional), they may process limited diagnostic data on our behalf.
- Legal: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety.
5) Data retention
- Music library data: Processed on-device for display/playback. Not stored on our servers by default.
- Support: We keep support emails as needed to help you, then delete them when no longer necessary.
6) Your choices
- You can deny or revoke Media Library access in iOS Settings at any time.
- If diagnostics are optional in the app, you can disable them in Settings.
- You can request deletion of support conversations by contacting us.
7) Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect information we handle. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we aim to minimize what’s collected in the first place.
8) Children
ClassicPlayer is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9) Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
